SWITZERLAND
Marco Schönbachler (FC Zurich 2004) FC Zürich won the Swiss tournament and qualified for the European qualifications in Zagreb. On 10th February Marco made his debut in the men’s senior team and at only 17 years-of-age became one of the youngest players ever to play in the Swiss Super League.
Although born in Colombia,
Johan Vonlanthen (BSC Young Boys 1999) has lived in Switzerland for many years and elected to play for the Swiss national team. He made history as the youngest ever scorer in a European Championship final when he scored against France in Euro 2004. Vonlanthen joined Serie A Club Brescia on loan until the end of the season.
Philipppe Senderos (Servette FC 1999-2000). In 1999 he qualified for the European qualification in Italy the 2000 World Finals in Holland. He made the English Premiership with Arsenal and the Swiss National Team. He scored an unforgettable header against South Korea at the 2006 World Cup and was also captain of the U20 NT at the World Championships and the U17 National team that won the European Championship in 2002. He helped Arsenal to the final of the Champions League 06/07 and this season Philippe has the great honour to wear jersey number 6 at Arsenal. The previous owner of the number 6 shirt was "Mr Arsenal" Tony Adams.
